On December 19, VNUHCM signed a memorandum of understanding with the Hyundai Motor Chung Mong-koo Foundation, outlining a long-term plan to award global scholarships aimed at nurturing Vietnam's future talent.
Starting in 2025, the Foundation will select 15 Vietnamese students annually to support their study at prestigious South Korean universities such as Korea University, Seoul National University, Yonsei University, and Hanyang University. These students will be recognized as elite recipients of the Chung Mong-koo Scholarship.
Each scholarship, valued at KRW 25 million, covers full tuition, a monthly stipend of KRW 1 million, and an additional KRW 2.5 million for settlement support. Recipients will also have the opportunity to participate in cultural exploration programs and integrated summer camps under the Chung Mong-koo Scholarship activities.
Particularly, outstanding students with exceptional academic performance may further qualify for graduate-level scholarships for master’s or doctoral studies in South Korea upon completing their undergraduate degrees. Additionally, they will gain access to the Foundation’s Global Talent Exchange Program, joining a network of over 200 elite scholars supported by the Hyundai Motor Chung Mong-koo Foundation.
To be eligible, students must be enrolled in undergraduate programs in fields such as future industries, economic management, Korean language and studies, public policy development, and more. Candidates must have completed at least two semesters at their home universities.
